Weekend in KC

This past Friday, we all headed up to Kansas City to surprise Nana (Courtney's Grandma) for her 80th birthday. Nathan and I were a little worried about the 8 hour drive and how our little munchkin would do because the last time we made the trip was for Christmas last year and he had just started to walk a few months prior. We were so lucky to ride up there with Mim and Poppa because they really helped with the burden of keeping Jacob occupied!
The carride was great, we read books, watched Elmo and The Wiggles movies and Jacob even got a new magna-doodle type toy that he loved!
On Friday night, we joined Mim and Poppa for a business dinner at McCormick and Schmick's on the Plaza. It was absolutely delicious! The following day was the big surpise lunch for Nana at Brio (also on the Plaza). It was great to see family we usually only see at Christmas and have another delicious meal. After a nice nap back in the hotel room, we met up with Mim and Poppa for dinner at CPK on the Plaza and walked around a bit, enjoying the cool weather. The next day, it was time to head home and endure another 8 hour carride. Just like a few days before, Jacob did an excellent job, this time napping for an hour and a half! He only started to fuss about five minutes from home (literally!).
We had such an amazing trip and are really looking forward to going back to good ole KC in a few months for Christmas!
