Sesame Street LIVE!

We spent the chilly and rainy morning at the Nokia Theater for a performance of Sesame Street Live! Jacob absolutely loves the show and the characters and we just knew he'd have a ball. The production was wonderful with colorful sets and fun music, Nathan and I even enjoyed it (we were a bit worried that we would get bored quickly, but that wasn't the case). The show started promptly at 10:30 with a 15 minute intermission at 11:15 and was over at noon. It was the perfect amount of time, those people really know what they're doing!

Jacob wore his Cookie Monster t-shirt and even got to sit in his very own seat. He spent a little time in each of our laps, but liked having his own place to watch the show. We bought popcorn before it began and he devoured almost the entire box!

I had my work cut out for me on the way home, trying to keep him awake because our fun filled morning wore him out!!!

Before the show there's so much to see!

Enjoying a special treat

Jacob's favorite characters are definitely Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby

The show takes the characters on adventures through imagination. This is Bert and Ernie's adventure on a boat- the SS Rubber Duckie (so cute!)

What a silly show!

Our sweet boy was so well behaved during the entire show. We didn't really know what to expect from a two year old, but he was great and we just loved experiencing this with him!

You can't leave out Elmo's World!

Towards the end of the show, the popcorn had run out and we had a tired little boy!

The grand finale

This morning, our MOPs group had a playdate at Bounce Town in Wylie. It was definitely worth the long-ish drive, Jacob had a blast!!

Valentine's Goodies

Our Valentine's Day celebration began early, at Mother's Day Out on Thursday. Jacob had his class party and passed out Valentine's and conversation hearts to all of his friends. He also got to wear this year's Valentine's shirt, one I hope he'll be able to wear a few more times (it's not super Valentine-y!).

Jacob and Anna posing for the camera before school on Thursday. They were so excited about the fun activities of the day!!

On Saturday, our family of three went out to eat to celebrate Valentine's Day. Jacob was so excited to enjoy some french fries, a rare and delicious treat! Sunday was pretty low key. After church, we came home and had lunch and then it was time for a nap. Daddy had tickets to the NBA All Star Game and was gone by the time Jacob woke up. So, that left just the two of us for a fun evening at home. We enjoyed an early dinner and then movie with popcorn, Jacob's favorite!
The Valentine bucket Jacob received from Mommy and Daddy on Sunday. Inside is a coloring book, lots of stickers, a board book, DVD, and some little toys.

These are the adorable Valentine cards Jacob gave to all of his friends at Mother's Day Out. I showed him the options online and he immediately picked out the firetruck ones!

Snow Day

After his nap, we got Jacob all bundled up and Daddy took him outside to play in the nearly six inches of snow in our backyard! He was timid at first, but had so much fun playing!

Two Year Appointment

This morning we braved the snow and slushy streets (every school district in our area is closed!) to visit Dr. Frank for Jacob's 2 year appointment. It was relatively quiet out at 9am and we got in and out of the office quite fast. Jacob is doing really well and has reached all of the milestones for his age. He even knows his shapes and colors, which is evidently "above average"! We were happy to see Dr. Frank and feel much better about his eating habits, which we found out are totally normal for his age. He continues to be on daily breathing treatments for his asthma and will continue that until the warmer months. Jacob only received one booster shot today and took it very well. His favorite part of the appointment? The lollipop, of course!
Stats:
Weight: 27.8 lbs (36%)
Length: 36 1/4 in (81%)
Head Circum.: 19 1/2 in (67%)

Movie Night

Last night we enjoyed a little family time while watching The Lion King. Jacob had an early dinner and bath while Daddy popped popcorn and set up a cozy place for us in the playroom. Of course, we didn't watch the entire movie because of bedtime, but Jacob absolutely loved watching all of the animals and dancing to the music! It's so fun to be able to start these little traditions, we really look forward to continuing them for years to come.

Enthralled with the opening sequence (and waiting for his special snack!)

Enjoying one of his faves, popcorn!
