Birthday Invitation Pictures

Auntie Catherine took pictures yesterday for Jacob's birthday party invitation. They all turned out so darn cute it's going to be difficult to choose just one! Which one will it be???? Guess we'll know it December!
Jacob's shirt is from Persnickity Me on Etsy and don't forget to check out Snips N Snails Photography for more info!

Big Boy Breakfast

Every now and then I seem to have these moments that I realize just how much Jacob is growing. I will probably always think of him as my baby, but he is becoming more and more of a little boy every day! I love seeing him discover and learn new things, I just wish it would slow down!!

This morning I fixed him breakfast and as I was tiddying up, I looked over and got quite nostalgic for a bit. I didn't see a little baby anymore, but a big boy eating his very own bowl of Cheerios! Perhaps it's a bit silly, but I just had to grab the camera to document a seemingly normal morning.

Cousins

This past summer, Jacob's two cousins, Sam and Levi, came to stay with Mim and Poppa for about six weeks before they moved to sunny California. We had such a blast getting all six of the Finkelstein cousins together throughout the summer and I thought it would be nice to post a few pictures. It's not often that we get all six boys together since Sam and Levi have always lived away, but they have so much fun when they do!

At Brady's birthday party back in August (with an honorary cousin, Callie!).
After dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, the last night of Sam and Levi's visit.

This picture doesn't include all the cousins, but it was just too cute to not be included!

Couch Potato

In the past few weeks, Jacob has really started to enjoy watching Sesame Street on the weekday mornings. It's really the only show he'll sit and "watch" for any given amount of time, something we don't really encourage. He loves all the characters and movement of the show and will sit for about 10 to 15 minutes and watch intently. After that period of time, he'll get up and play for a bit and then go back to watch for another 10 to 15 minutes or so. Sesame Street is the only show we really watch and like to spend our day playing and listening to music. We recently brought his PBK Anywhere Chair downstairs in order to keep him further away from the television screen and I have to admit that it's pretty darn cute to watch him sitting there!!!

Saturday on the Farm

We spent yesterday morning celebrating cousin Sam's fifth birthday at Heritage Farmstead in Plano. If you haven't visited, I couldn't recommend it more!!

The boys had such a wonderful time learning about the farm and experimenting with different chores children their age would have been expected to do. It was a great experience for Jacob to explore and he loved running around the farm and seeing all the animals!!

While the older boys got to milk the "cow", Jacob was mostly interested in touching the cow to see if it was real!

What a fun-filled day it was! After all of the farm activities, we had lunch and then cake. By the end of the morning, Jacob was wet (from his laundry duties), dirty, and exhausted! He enjoyed a nice bath before a looong nap!
Happy Birthday, Sammy!

First Day of School

Well, it's been quite a busy couple of weeks in the Cox house, hence the lack of posts! This past Tuesday, Jacob started "school"! I got a wonderful job teaching Pre-K at a Mother's Day Out program, which means that Jacob also attends. We spent several weeks preparing the room and lesson plans, not to mention getting all the necessary supplies for our little man! Part of me was sad to drop him off for the day, but his teachers are so sweet and he's just down the hall from my room! It truly is the best job, we get to church at around 8:15, Jake plays in my room until 8:45 and I pick him up at 2! He has so much fun playing on the playground, doing crafts, having music time, eating lunch, and taking a nap with his new friends. The best thing is, it's only twice a week so we still have lots of time to play together!

One of my main purchases for this year was a backpack and matching lunch box for Jacob. He loves stuffing the bag with all of his belongings and I loooove that is has his name on the front!! Each day, he brings a full lunch along with the softest blanket ever from PBK and his beloved Lovie, both of which make for a cozy nap at school.

It truly has been such a blessing to work with great people, go to a job that I really enjoy and best of all doesn't take away from time with my favorite little guy!
