7 Months Old!!

The past seven months have been an absolute whirlwind and it's hard to believe how quickly time goes by and how much Jacob changes and grows each and every day. It has been such a blessing to be able to stay home with him each day and watch him grow into such a sweet and silly little boy.

6 Month Pictures

A few weeks ago, we went to Central Park in Frisco with our photographer, Terry, to have Jacob's six month pictures taken. He was in the best mood that entire morning, but was pooped afterwards! It's tiring to be so cute...

Splish Splash

Jacob had a fun playdate today with his cousin Brady. His favorite thing was playing outside in Brady's pool. The perimeter of the pool fills up with water and as it does, water squirts out of tiny holes. Jacob loved getting water in his face and trying to cover the holes! We had such a great time and it was so fun to see the boys together!!

Gotta watch out for the squirt!

Brady is more mobile than Jacob and loved crawling around in the pool. Poor Jake was stuck in one place the entire time, but he still had fun!

My how you've grown!!

Yesterday, we had Jacob's six month appointment (finally, since he's practically seven months old!). Dr. Frank was very pleased with his progress and happy to see how jovial and social he is. Even the nurse felt bad giving his shots because he was giggling with her only a few moments before. Jacob has grown leaps and bounds in his weight, now up to 19 lbs 11 oz (72%) and 28 in (83%). He even showed off some of his tricks to Dr. Frank, like how well he sits up and blowing raspberries, which she said he shouldn't be able to do yet!

Jacob is becoming more and more of a little boy these days. He loves to explore with his new toys and discover sounds when he bangs different toys together. We laugh because he often gets very serious when playing and is in deep concentration.

This week we switched Jacob to a multigrained cereal as he was becoming bored with rice. We also introduced bananas, which you can see from the picture above, was a whole new taste! After the first day or two, he started gobbling them down. He hasn't met a food yet that he doesn't like!!

This is what we call Jacob's "Grumpy Old Men" face. Although Dr. Frank didn't see any beginnings of teeth, he's definitely showing signs that they aren't too far off!

This past weekend, we decided to introduce Jacob to one of his new sippy cups. He absolutely loves to suck on wet washcloths (like in the bath or when getting a clean face after a messy meal!) so we thought he'd enjoy a little bit of water. I suppose he was expecting something different to come from the spout, because when he got a taste of the water in his mouth, he grimaced! Let the journey begin...

Happy 4th of July!

Jacob spent his very first Independence Day swimming and playing at Grandmommy and Grandaddy's house. He had an absolute blast and would consider his first 4th of July a success!

Jacob got to try out Grandmommy and Grandaddy's swing while we ate dinner and he had so much fun! Whee!!!

Playdate Fun!

Jacob loves that it's summertime and he gets to have his friends over to play. Although this mostly consists of just looking at one another and making random baby sounds, he really seems to enjoy it!

Last week, Emory came over to play. Since the babies are only two weeks apart, it's really fun to see all that they are learning to do and how they are growing.





Today, Jacob's friend Carson came to play. Carson is a "big boy" and is doing lots of things Jacob can't quite do yet, but it's fun to see what Jacob will be like in a few months! Jacob and Carson used to play together every day when Mommy worked, it's nice to have play time with both mommies present!

It was more difficult to get a picture of the two boys together because Carson is mobile. Luckily, we can still sit Jacob down somewhere and he doesn't move! Above is a picture of Carson exploring the game room and Jacob peeking into the picture in the lower left corner.

Jacob definitely looks forward to more playdates with his friends this summer!!
