Jacob got a little virus a few weeks ago that caused him to miss a day of school and stay home to rest for several days in a row. Then, about a week later, I caught something that felt like the flu and caused me to miss a day of school as well. Luckily, daddy was able to stay home with Jacob one day and I was able to rest and begin my recovery!
Mother's Day Out has been keeping us quite busy these days and Jacob is really adjusting so well! He absolutely loves his three teachers and has a fun time playing with others and participating in fun craft projects! I'm also really enjoying the opportunity to teach again and to be able to plan fun seasonal activities with my Pre-K class. Every other Monday, Jacob and I attend MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers) at our home church, so some weeks I feel like we're barely home!
This past weekend was probably one of our best ever. Daddy had Friday off and the weather was perfect, a bit chilly and rainy. We love those days and enjoy spending time together as a family. On Friday morning, we went up to the mall to do some shopping and then spent the remainder of the afternoon cuddling up and playing at home. We were supposed to visit a pumpkin farm with our small group from church on Saturday, but cancelled due to the weather. That evening was such a fun time because we met up with some friends for dinner at Uncle Julio's. Jacob had a fun time playing and eating with his friend, Reese. After church on Sunday, we went to lunch with our small group and then had another cozy afternoon at home. All in all, last weekend was the perfect combination of activities and time at home together!!
I cannot believe that it's already mid October and that the holiday season will be upon us soon! We are really looking forward to time with family and friends over the next several months and celebrating many fun occasions!
As things slow down at school and we get in more of a routine, my goal is to devote more time to the blog and be better about keeping it updated! There will be many fun things to share and we approach this busy time of year!
Here are just a few pictures I snapped of Jacob and Reese outside the restaurant as we were waiting for our table. It was a chilly evening, but luckily they had a fire going in the outdoor fireplace!
