Cookie Time!!

Jacob and I spent the rainy afternoon baking my super-secret, super- special chocolate chip cookies for some friends. We had such a great time, I just had to share! Jacob loved helping me stir the ingredients and pour in the chocolate chips. The hardest part, of course, was waiting for our cookies to come out of the oven!!

Waiting patiently

The finished product! Delish!

Big Red Bucket

Several weeks ago, we purchased this big red bucket to store all of Jacob's balls. Being a typical boy, he has beach balls, soccer balls, basketballs, and various other balls that seem to always be in the way. We had to buy something to keep them all together and tidy in our living room. Little did we know that the bucket itself would become such a treasured plaything and Jacob just loves to empty it and climb inside!

Dallas Children's Museum

We spent a fun morning at the museum to celebrate Jacob's friend Anna's third birthday. He was so excited about the party all morning, and it didn't disappoint! During the party, we got to spend time in three areas of the Children's Museum:

The Farm

The Town
(Jacob spent most of his time in the Fire truck, of course!)

The Backyard

We had such a wonderful time and hope to be able to get back to the museum for more exploring soon!

Petting Zoo

Today was the last day of music camp at church. Instead of our normal class, it was set up like a carnival with four stations that included lunch and a petting zoo outside. We decided to visit the petting zoo first since it gets so gosh darn hot here!
I've discovered there are three stages of petting zoo behavior when it comes to toddlers (or at least, Jacob).
1. Excitement and anticipation- He just couldn't wait until it was his turn to play with the animals!
2. Fear and horror- Once we got inside the fencing, Jacob wouldn't leave my side and was holding on to my leg for dear life. I thought we'd have to leave early due to a breakdown.
3. Joy and curiosity- After a few minutes, Jacob totally warmed up and actually enjoyed petting the animals! Of course, it was at about this time that our turn was up and he proceeded to cry.

Two and a Half Years Old!

Jacob celebrated his half birthday by attending day 2 of the Tiny Tots 'n Tunes music camp at church. He just loves singing, dancing, and playing with his friends and it was a great way to spend the morning!

It's hard to believe Jacob is halfway to three years old!!

Five Years

I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine...

Almost two years later...

Jacob desperately wanted to try on his shark costume this morning. I'd say it looks a bit different than it did the last time he wore it...

Miss PattyCake

We enjoyed an evening at church attending our very first Miss PattyCake concert! It was such a fun time and Jacob really loved spending time with friends. He even sang and danced along with the music and kept calling out to Miss PattyCake. No one can say he wasn't excited!!

PJ and Jacob killing some time before the concert began.

Miss PattyCake!

Jacob just looooves having a seat all to himself!

Taking a break from all the dancing and silliness...

His full attention was definitely on the stage for the first thirty minutes or so. Then all of his pent up energy came out and it was time to run!

The older Joyland children got to sing with Miss PattyCake, this will be Jacob one year!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Jacob enjoyed his very first baseball game on Saturday night! We were so excited to take him to see the RoughRiders in Frisco with some dear friends. It was a bit warm to begin with, but became nice and balmy as the sun went down and the breeze picked up.

Daddy and Jacob trying to beat the heat while the sun was still up

PJ and Jacob loved watching the game!

Enjoying his very own seat

One of the highlights of the evening was watching the mascot, Deuce, dancing!

Sharing a snack

Our tired little family, ready to go home after a fun evening at the ballpark!
