Lunch with Daddy

Today Jacob and I ventured downtown to visit daddy's office and go to lunch. Jacob loved seeing all of the tall buildings (and even recognized that it was the same way we drove to the zoo yesterday!) and couldn't wait to see daddy. When we checked in, he even got his own visitor badge!

Of course, the highlight of the trip to daddy's office was the jellybeans daddy keeps on his desk! Jacob couldn't wait to dig in!

After a little snack, Jacob went right to work!

Then, it was off to our favorite little pizza place, Sal's. It's always such a treat to eat at Sal's, Jacob has been going there since he was a baby!

What a fun time we had and what a great way to spend our day off!!

Chilly Morning at the Zoo

I love our zoo membership. It makes a trip to the zoo so stress free and cheap! For the price of lettuce to feed the giraffes (more on that later), we can spend a morning at the zoo and not worry about "getting our money's worth".
Jacob and I have thoroughly enjoyed our days together during Thanksgiving break and I am so very thankful to have such a great job that allows me to have plenty of time with my favorite little guy. On Tuesday, we met up with some dear friends at the zoo for a morning of fun, even though it was a bit chilly and dreary (I'll take it over 100 degree temps any day!). We arrived at the zoo promptly at 9 am in order to beat the dollar day crowds (the zoo was overflowing with police and security!) and were able to avoid the mayhem. We stayed for a little over an hour and a half and were able to see pretty much all of the main attractions in the zoo. As we left, we noticed that the lines were growing longer and the zoo was becoming more crowded, the perfect time to make our escape!
Jacob had so much fun visiting all of his animal friends and really enjoyed time with Anna and Joey! After lunch, it was time to get home and he took a three hour nap. Woo-hoo!!

The Ocelots were a huge hit! They were the first cats we saw of the day...

Beautiful parrots...

A close encounter with a cheetah (unfortunately, the lions weren't out, they seem to be a bit picky about weather conditions...)

Feeding the giraffes, definitely a highlight of the trip!

Check out that tongue!

The elephants in their beautiful enclosure.

Now it's time for the rhinos to have a new home!

Jacob loved the llamas! Some of his favorite books are the "Llama llama" books!

The monkeys were a big hit!

Jacob was so sad when we headed out of the zoo! Luckily it was nothing a good lolly couldn't fix and the promise of lunch at McDonald's with his friends!

Birthday Fun on the Farm

We spent a great morning on Saturday at one of Jacob's best buddy's birthday party. The party was held at The Owen's Spring Creek Farm in Richardson and the morning was full of feeding the goats, a hayride and even a little train ride for the kids.

Jacob loved feeding the goats from the palm of his hand but ended up just letting them eat out of his cup towards the end!

Jacob loved riding the little train with PJ, the birthday boy!

Thank you so much to the Pascuzzi family, it was a great way to spend a fall day!!!!

Trick or Treat!

Because I've still be feeling so tired and sick, we decided to stay home this Halloween and just have our good friends, the Pascuzzis, over to trick-or-treat. The kids had a blast trick-or-treating together and I loved being able to visit a few houses and then head home to rest! I really thought Jacob "got it" last year when he was a dinosaur, but this year, he definitely did! The boys and daddies took quite a trek around the neighborhood and came home exhausted and loaded down with lots of yummy treats! I have to be honest, it is a bit sad to put that cute costume away...

Fall Festival

Last week was the Fall Festival at church and Jacob just couldn't wait to wear his new robot costume! He was so adorable, we had people stopping us the entire night just to have a closer look! Jacob had a great time playing all the games, bouncing and of course, collecting plenty of treats! We even met up with our good friends PJ and Katelyn and he had even more fun!

The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

A few weeks ago, Jacob had a sleepover at Mim and Poppa's house. The following day, they took a trip to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina. Jacob had such a fun time going on a hayride, picking a pumpkin, and feeding the animals. He couldn't wait to tell us all about it!!!
