Spring Break in San Antonio

San Antonio is the perfect distance from Dallas for a nice little mini vacay at Spring Break.  We wanted to get away for a bit with the boys but also wanted a few days at home to relax and enjoy each other.  Sunday morning (Nathan's birthday) we left and came back on Wednesday afternoon.  We all had a great time!

Sunday evening we met up with my sister Nikki and her family for dinner to celebrate Nathan's birthday.  We ate in the garden of a great restaurant on Main called La Fonda.  The food was delicious and it was a perfect way to kick off our little vacation!

On Monday, we spent the day at Sea World.  While it was a bit disappointing for the adults (not enough to do and a weird layout!), the kids all had a blast!  The morning started out a little chilly but warmed up to a beautiful day.  We saw a few shows (Jonah and I watched Sesame Street) and of course Shamu and even rode a few rides!  By 3 o'clock we were all tuckered out and ready for a quiet afternoon at the hotel pool and an early bedtime!

Tuesday started with a relaxed breakfast at our hotel and then a two hour nap for Jonah while the rest of us read and hung out in the room!  After a yummy lunch at Freddy's (and some silly time) we spent a while at the beautiful pool before heading to Nikki's for dinner.

By Wednesday morning, we were all tired and ready to get back to our cozy home!  The car ride home was long (it ended up taking us almost 7 hours to get home with a break for lunch) but we had plenty of games and movies to keep us busy!  We were glad to be home and still have four days before school to rest and play!
