Easter Eggstravaganza

The weather was absolutely beautiful for our church's annual Easter Eggstravaganza. It was held at church this year, which was also perfect and Jacob is the perfect age to begin to truly enjoy these sorts of activities.
Each age group had a designated hunting area and a designated time slot. Two year olds hunted at 11:10 and it was an Easter egg hunting frenzy. Jacob was sooo excited to find the eggs, and especially excited to get to keep them! After hunting for eggs, he got his face painted. When we thought about what he should get, we decided a green BU to cheer on the Bears as they're in the Elite Eight tomorrow!

So many eggs, so little time!

Pure bliss!

Checking out the goodies inside.

Taking it all in.

School spirit!

Face painted, basket full and ready for lunch!

Thanks to Mim, Poppa, Grandaddy and Cici for coming out to make today extra special!

Encounter with the Easter Bunny

After last year, I wasn't really sure if Jacob would pose with the Easter Bunny or not. After several days of showing him last year's picture and talking about visiting the Easter Bunny, we were ready to give it a try. As we waited in line, the Easter Bunny came to say hello and Jacob clung to me with all his might. He was having none of it and wouldn't go near the Bunny! Luckily, Mim and a lollipop came to the rescue and he was a happy boy. Of course, he was happiest when he said "bye bye" to the Bunny!!

At least we got a smile!

Springtime Fun

The official start of Spring is just around the corner and the weather has been absolutely perfect! This morning, Jacob and I went over to his cousins' house to play on this sunny, cool day. After breakfast, I told Jacob where we were going and he just couldn't stop talking about his cousins!

Jacob had a blast playing in the boys' train depot!

I think a sandbox is a definite must for this summer!

I came to realize that Jacob is such a big boy, watching him climb up the ladder all by himself and enjoying sliding down the slide!

It was such a perfect Spring morning and we're both so excited to spend more time with the boys this summer!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Jacob and I have really enjoyed a week off from our regular activities! We've gotten a lot done around the house and have enjoyed some fun things we can't normally do when we have MOPs and MDO. Today, we had Anna and Joey over for a special St. Patrick's Day playdate!

The calm before the storm...

Jacob was absolutely thrilled when he welcomed Anna and Joey at the front door! He normally sees them at MDO on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so it was a special treat to have them at his house. The kids had such a fun time playing in the gameroom that we didn't even get to the special activities and crafts I had planned for the morning!

My first attempt at a group picture

Our special snack of green grapes, green apples, and faux ice cream sandwiches. Yum!

At least he ate the apples...

The boys in their matching shirts!

This is what happens when you wait until the end of the playdate to get a group picture!
Thank you to Anna, Joey, and their momma, Julie, for coming over this morning! We had so much fun celebrating the holiday with you and playing outside of Mother's Day Out!!!

Daffodils!

Some of our daffodils have bloomed near the front entry. They are so beautiful, I only wish they lasted longer and bloomed throughout the spring instead of blooming once and then looking yucky! I guess we'll just have to enjoy them while we can!
