8 Months Old!!

This month's photo shoot was a bit different from months past. It was...shall we say, exhausting??? My how things change when babies become mobile!

Jacob thought it was so much fun to sit on his chair alone and discovered that it moved when he hopped. You can imagine what happened next, as seen in the progression below. By the third picture, I was convinced he was going to fall off, but alas, he did not.

Finally sitting still!!

Below is the one and only picture I took of Jacob in his 12 month onesie. Although I'd prefer to have his thumb out of his mouth for the photo, it was the only shot I got before he continually rolled over and crawled away. Argh.

Lean, Mean, Crawling Machine

Okay, so he's not lean, and he's certainly not mean, but he is most definitely a crawling machine! Baby gates and outlet covers...here we come!!!

Happy Birthday Brady!

Yesterday, Jacob got to celebrate his cousin Brady's first birthday. It's hard to believe that in four short months, we'll be celebrating Jacob's first birthday!!

He was so excited to celebrate with his three cousins, but was a bit sad that he wasn't able to participate in the fun games and eating of ice cream sundaes and cake! But, he still decided to be festive and sport the birthday hat anyways.

Jacob sought good advice from his older and wiser cousin, Brady. Oh boy, I see trouble in the future!!

The boys loooove spending time with Poppa, he's so silly!

Brady wasn't so sure about the cake, but after a few minutes he dug in and made a real mess!

After all the yummy treats and games, we spent some time outside swinging and playing. It was such a beautiful evening and we wanted to take full advantage of the mild weather. Jacob loves Brady's swing and can't wait for his own next year.

Sittin' Pretty

A few days ago, Courtney saw a scene (similar to the picture below) as she walked into Jacob's room to get him after a nap. At the time, he had a look of utter amazement and confusion on his face, so she thought his position in the crib must have been a fluke. Over the next few days, this started to occur more and more so, of course, the crib was lowered! As you can see, Jacob is quite proud of the new skill he's learned and is more than happy to show it off (each and every nap time!).

7 Months Old!!

The past seven months have been an absolute whirlwind and it's hard to believe how quickly time goes by and how much Jacob changes and grows each and every day. It has been such a blessing to be able to stay home with him each day and watch him grow into such a sweet and silly little boy.

6 Month Pictures

A few weeks ago, we went to Central Park in Frisco with our photographer, Terry, to have Jacob's six month pictures taken. He was in the best mood that entire morning, but was pooped afterwards! It's tiring to be so cute...

Splish Splash

Jacob had a fun playdate today with his cousin Brady. His favorite thing was playing outside in Brady's pool. The perimeter of the pool fills up with water and as it does, water squirts out of tiny holes. Jacob loved getting water in his face and trying to cover the holes! We had such a great time and it was so fun to see the boys together!!

Gotta watch out for the squirt!

"Look Momma!"

Brady is more mobile than Jacob and loved crawling around in the pool. Poor Jake was stuck in one place the entire time, but he still had fun!
