With one week to go before Jonah's arrival, Jacob and I enjoyed some mommy/son time in the kitchen! He loved using his kitchen tools he received at Christmas, if only he'd actually eat the muffins!

Getting Ready!!
I had also been on the search for a new diaper bag for months and found one that I just fell in love with. While I loved the Petunia Picklebottom bag from when Jacob was a baby, it didn't hold up very well (disappointing considering the price!) and I needed something new. This time, I wanted something that didn't scream baby bag and that I could possibly use afterwards as a tote. I think I found the perfect bag!
Now it's time for finishing touches on the nursery and start thinking about the packing list for the hospital I received at the doctor's office at my last appointment!

Bed Rest. Again.
After a very difficult week back at work, I was put back on bed rest by my obgyn. I was able to get an appointment to see her yesterday morning and also got an appointment in the afternoon to see a maternal fetal specialist. In order to induce any earlier than 39 weeks, we had to see the specialist and get him to approve the induction. The good news from all of this is that we got an ultrasound and got to see our little guy! The ultrasound was extremely detailed and everything looks perfect!! He is approximately 5 lbs. 8 oz (20th percentile, a little on the petite side) and we even got to watch him practice breathing! The specialist really wants us to hold out until 38 weeks to make sure his lungs are developed nicely, which means we have two weeks until our little guy arrives! We haven't set the actual date yet, but I know the next few weeks will be busy getting everything ready for his arrival!!

An Interesting March
St. Patty's Day 2008
So...the past few weeks have been a complete bust. Nathan's birthday, Spring Break, and even St. Patrick's Day (which I had very grand plans for this year!).
I was admitted back into the hospital on Thursday (two days after I was released) in order to have a procedure done on Friday evening that would allow my kidney to drain properly and to make it through the remainder of my pregnancy pain free. I was released (for the second time) on Nathan's birthday and put on bed rest until my following doctor's appointment. Because I had been in the hospital all week, I had not been able to do anything special for Nathan's birthday and even though we got take out from our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner, I felt awful that his birthday was such a bust.
The following week was Spring Break. Now, we usually take the time to do "staycation" activities around town like visit the zoo, aquarium, etc. This year however, I was on bed rest for the first half and told to take it easy the second half. Ugh. Nathan did take Jacob to the movies and we enjoyed lots of play time at home, which was certainly nice!
Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and I had been planning this great surprise for Jacob. Of course, I was unable to actually get out and go to the store and buy all of the things I had planned, so he got a special breakfast of Lucky Charms (which he was quite thrilled with!). Next year.
We only have a few more weeks of this pregnancy and I'm ready. I want my little guy to stay put until he's ready to come out, but it will be wonderful for him to be here and for me to be able to finally recover!! We've decided to induce a week early (if I can last that long!) so I can have my procedure sooner and feel back to normal. Only a few more weeks of discomfort and pain, but I'm hoping to still make it fun for Jacob. He loved decorating for Easter and I'm already planning the contents of his Easter basket. Hopefully that won't be a bust.

Work Baby Shower

Yesterday, my amazing team helped throw a baby shower for myself and baby Jonah. Because it's baby #2, we decided not to register and they did a gift card shower, which was perfect! Unfortunately, bed rest prevented me from actually attending (seriously, what a bummer) but they came by afterwards to bring some cake and the gift cards. It was wonderful to be able to order the things we were still needing for Jonah's arrival but I was sad to miss it! This weekend was definitely a wake up call that it could be any time now and we need to kick it into high gear and finish getting everything ready!
