Flashback Friday

How was he ever this little????

Yet Another Snow Day

Sometimes I really wonder why we live in Texas. The summers are awful and the winter weather is completely unpredictable. This weekend, it was in the 70s and then yesterday evening, a winter storm blew in and caused us to stay home from school not only today, but also tomorrow. Now, I'm not particularly complaining that I get to stay home with my sweet boy, but it's no wonder everyone gets sick (like all my students!) when the weather is so wishy-washy.
Jacob and I had a very lazy day today. We cuddled in bed before getting up to a big breakfast and playing all morning. After a nice, long nap, Jacob wanted to get out his new dinosaur playdoh set (actually not that new, it was from Mim and Poppa for his birthday- we just hadn't opened it!). He absolutely loves playing with playdoh and could sit at the kitchen table for literally hours just having fun!
I'm really trying to enjoy these unexpected days at home and not stress over all the stuff I'm going to have to catch up on when I go back to work (not the mention the snow day make-up days we'll have to go to school later on in the spring!). For now, I'll just enjoy the company of this little guy...

Ch-ch-ch-changes

It has been quite busy in the Cox house over the past few weeks! Right before Christmas, I got the amazing opportunity to get back into the classroom teaching full time! I started up officially on January 3rd, teaching third grade in McKinney and couldn't be happier! I love being back in the classroom and I have the best school/team/class! Jacob also started going to school full time and loves his new preschool class and teacher! He is learning so much and having so much fun that he doesn't want to leave when I come pick him up! On top of everything else, Nathan's new job is in full swing and he'll begin traveling very soon. While we are all a bit tired as we transition into this new phase of life, we couldn't be more thankful for all of God's blessings and provisions! He has taken us on quite a long journey that began one year ago, when we decided I needed to go back to work. In that time, there was much agony, frustration and heartache but one year later, we are filled with such joy and excitement that only He can provide! Thank you so much for Keeping Up with the Coxes, I'll definitely try to be better about regular postings as things slow down!!!

Snow Day!!

School was cancelled today, so I get to stay home with my favorite three year old boy and enjoy the cozy weather!
It started snowing yesterday, right after we got home from church. By three o'clock in the afternoon, everything was white and it was beautiful! We stayed indoors much of the afternoon, but of course, Jacob just HAD to go out and play with daddy. He had such a blast making and throwing snowballs and creating snow angels!
